Govt Printer says all ballot papers have been handed over

The Government Printer states that all printed ballot papers have been handed over to the Elections Commissioner.

Government Printer Gamini Fonseka says that the ballot papers printed for the Colombo district is the lengthiest  ballot paper. The length of the ballot paper stands at 25 inches. Sixteen million ballot papers have been printed for the polls.

The Government Printer states that 90 % of work is complete with regard to the the printing of the candidate registry and other documents that will be displayed at the polling centre.

Meanwhile ,the Elections Department states that every employer must give necessary leave or holidays to their employees, enabling them to cast their vote for the upcoming general election.  Additional Elections Commissioner M.M. Mohamed said thata set of guidelines, recommended by the Human Rights Commission had also been published with regard to this matter.

He also stated that legal action would be taken against all employers who fail to give leave to their employees.
