Here are the views expressed by political party leaders at various locations.

Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe stated that there was no foreign investment in the country for the past ten years but now, as a result of the Volkswagen factory built in Kuliyapitiya, the training needed to manufacture cars can be provided.

He added that they have signed an agreement to establish a thermal power plant in Trincomalee and another oil refinery is to be established in the Chinese Harbour.

He added:

Those who didn’t come forward for ten years are now lining up. So, now, if the government starts fighting one another, will those who want to invest do so? This is a stable government that can work and does not lie – which is the very reason they fight under UNP

Kurunegala District Candidate of UPFA, Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that since the UNP lost power in 1994 the SLFP has been in power, an alliance government.

He added that even though the people voted for a new President they did not vote for a new government whereas Ranil Wickremesinghe took the opportunity and took over power.

Leader of JVP, Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated that if the people vote for the betel leaf all the investigations into thieves will halt.

He added that Ranil Wickeremsinghe is not the solution: but instead through a parliament represented by JVP, the country can achieve victory without any harm.
