Coastal railway services that were halted due to a technical failure have been restored.

A train plying from Aluthgama to Maradana was delayed along the coastal railway line due to technical difficulties. The Railway Control Room said that the train was subsequently towed to Colombo with the use of another train. They added that all trains plying along the coastline scheduled within that timeframe were delayed.

However, a spokesperson for the Railway Control Room said that train services have since been restored.
