Speaking at an event held to provide concessionary loans of Rs.100,000 to 187 families in Tangalle on Thursday (May 07th), Minister of Housing and Samurdhi Sajith Premadasa made a statement regarding yesterday’s meeting between the President Maithripala Sirisena and the former president.
Minister Premadasa noted that he speaks with the President on a daily basis in-order to secure more funds for development activities. However he noted that meeting which took place on Wednesday between President Sirisena and Mahinda Rajapaksa, demands were made for the position of Prime Minister while a request was also made not to dissolve local government institutions.
The minister reassured the public that no matter what meeting is held President Maithripala Sirisena will make decisions after thinking about the country.
