U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry meets President Sirisena and PM Wickremesinghe

US Secretary of State John Kerry who is currently on an official visit to Sri Lanka issued a joint statement with Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera on Saturday.

John Kerry has also met and held discussions with President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

He stated that America will always be helping Sri Lanka to have a prosperous future. Also, it is learnt the approval of the 19th Amendment to the constitution which has brought peace within the country has impressed America.

He also appreciated the brave efforts taken by the President of Sri Lanka and the Prime Minister to develop the country and the manner in with Sri Lanka engaged in aiding Nepal.

He went on to note  that America’s doors will always be open for Sri Lanka and that they will give their full support to Sri Lanka’s government during their future endeavours.
