The Sri Lanka Army says that approximately 16,000 soldiers who had been absent without official leave had made use of the amnesty period and left the army.
Speaking to News1st Acting Army spokesperson Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera stated that the amnesty period was extended until April 25.
