It is reported that former leader of the JVP Somawansa Amarasinghe stated that to a group of print media journalists that he has decided to resign from the party.
News1st contacted the propaganda secretary of the JVP MP Vijitha Herath with regard to the resignation of the former leader and secretary of international relations of the JVP, Somawansa Amarasinghe.
MP Vijith Herath noted that the resignation of comrade Somawansa Amarasinghe was a decision made by himself, without educating the party regarding his decision. He said:
He must remain in the party since his intervention and guidance is crucial our development. However, we will intervene as much as possible to keep him in the party and we also hope to discuss the matter with him and change his decision in order to keep him in the party.
