President Maithripala Sirisena left for China on Wednesday afternoon, commencing a four-day state visit, on the invitation of the President of China, Xi Jinping.
The President, along with many other world leaders, is scheduled to attend the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2015, which will be held in Boao, in the Hainan Province from March 26 – 29 where President Sirisena will address the summit on March 28.
President Sirisena is to speak to the international community on Sri Lanka’s development and economic programme.
According to the President’s Media Division, during his stay in China, President Maithripala Sirisena is expected to hold bilateral discussions with his Chinese counterpart as well as the Prime Minister and senior government officials.
President Sirisena is to also hold bilateral discussions with the Executive Committee Chairman of the China National People’s Congress.
