The Colombo Port City Project was one of the points discussed during the AMCHAM Breakfast meeting on Wednesday March 4 in Colombo.
Deputy Minister of Highways, Higher Education and Investment Promotion Eran Wickremaratne noted that if the reports pertaining to environmental impact meets all its requirements the project can be proceed further adding that they need to look into these issues pragmatically.
The minister however noted that although people expect a “yes or no” answer for this issue, the complexity of this project does not allow room for such a response. The Deputy Minister went onto note that the project should be assessed fairly and that the terms of it its agreements should be carefully considered before taking a final decision.
