Presidential candidate of the New Democratic Front Maithripala Sirisena says that he has not reached any agreement with the TNA or the SLMC to divide the country.
Making a special statement at a media briefing in Colombo today the presidential candidate noted that he remains committed to safeguarding the unity of the country and has not reached any decision or agreement on the devolution of power with the TNA or the SLMC.
Maithripala Sirisena added that he rejects all allegations leveled at him and his coalition on dividing the country, allowing the LTTE to re-emerge and remove the military presence in the North.
He went on to note that even though acts of election violence have been on the rise against the New Democratic Front, his supporters had been able to tolerate all this and carry out the presidential campaign in a disciplined manner.
