The Ceylon Teacher Services Union voiced that Royal College, Wayamba which falls under the Kurunegala education zone started the ordinary level examination  fifteen minutes later that the scheduled time.

Director of the Ceylon Teacher Services Union, Lal Kumara said the issue was due to the negligence of the officials at the examinations centre. He further added that a written complaint has been lodged with the Examinations Commissioner requesting for immediate actions regarding the issue.

However, when News1st contacted Commissioner General of Examinations, W.M.N.J. Pushpakumara, he denied receiving such a complaint. He stated an examination can be delayed owing to practical reasons and in that case, the students will be given more time and it will not be a problem for the examination.
