A strong crowd of 15,000 enthusiastic cricket fans cheered for Indian captain Virat Kohli when he scored a run off Sri Lankan bowler De Silva to complete his 50 and also became the quickest batsman to score 6,000 runs in ODIs in the match played agaisnt Sri Lanka in Hyderabad on Sunday.
After Kohli hit his 32nd half-century, the helmet was off in a flash and the right-hander raised his bat to acknowledge the cheering crowd.
The best, however, was left for Anushka. The skipper blew a kiss to the stand where she was patiently seated, taking everyone by surprise – even teammate Raina.
Anushka responded with a standing ovation and a controlled, shy, smile as the fiery batsman celebrated his milestone.
Anushka was seen during India’s tour of England and Kohli’s poor performance during the series was blamed on her presence.
