A youth who attempted to abuse a foreign national in close proximity to Western Monastery in Anuradhapura has been arrested.

Police said the incident has taken place when the tourist was sightseeing while travelling by a bicycle.The victim is a twenty-five-year-old Malaysian woman. The nineteen-year old youth residing in Lolugaswewa in Anuradapura has been arrested in this regard.

The suspect is due to be produced before courts on Friday.
