The Democratic Party informed the Elections Commissioner on Tuesday that the results of the Uva Provincial Council elections were fraudulent.
Party Leader Sarath Fonseka made these submissions during a meeting with the Elections Commissioner on Tuesday.Democratic Party Leader Sarath Fonseka had reportedly made submissions to the Elections Commissioner for around two hours.
The results of the Uva Provincial Council Elections were fraudulent. There was definitely injustice that took place in this case. Because when we told the Elections Commissioner that we received only 189 votes in an electorate like Badulla he was shocked. Even he wouldn’t think that a party like us would receive just 100 to 200 votes. So I hope that he will look into this conscientiously and take action. Nevertheless, we will take this matter to court. In elections held in 4 provinces we received the votes the government lost. So a plan was implemented to prevent this from happening again by means of stealing votes.
