Sri Lanka has been elevated to 4th in the ICC Test Rankings following their 2-0 white wash of Pakistan in the recently concluded Test series.
Sri Lanka previously held the sixth position in the rankings following their 1-0 series loss to South Africa.
India who was demolished by England 3-1 in the 5 match Test series stands in at number 5 while England holds the number 3 position.
Following their 1-0 series win over Sri Lanka, South Africa is ranked as the number 1 one Test side in the world while Australia is at number 2.
Sri Lankan skipper Angelo Mathews has been ranked third in the ICC Test Batting ranking following his exemplary batting performance. While Mathews previously held the number 5 spot in the rankings, veteran batsman Kumar Sangakkara stands at the top of the batting rankings.
Left arm spinner Rangana Herath who bagged a total 23 wickets in the series against Pakistan, breaking the record of most number of wickets in a test series of 22 wickets previously held by spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan, now stands at number 3 in the ICC test bowling rankings.
Before achieving this milestong Rangana Herath was ranked number 5. South Africa’s Dale Steyn head the bowling rankings.
