Police to use new strategy to arrest election law violators

The Police Headquarters notes that it is aiming to obtain video footage and images of those who violate election laws. Police Media Spokesperson, SSP Ajith Rohana said the police will employ ways to nab the perpetrators

The Police Media Spokesperson added that the police will work towards ensuring free and fair elections ahead of the provincial council polls this year and noted that the main objective of the initiative is to arrest poll candidate faithfuls and others involved in violating election laws.

SSP Ajith Rohana noted that around 1000 police officers have been assigned to carry out this duty.
