The Ministry of Health is due to question staff at the Cosmetic Surgery Clinic where a female doctor was killed recently during a surgical procedure.
The Director of the Cosmetic Devices and Drugs Regulatory Authority (CDDA) Dr. Amal Harsha De Silva stated that statements will be recorded from the health workers at the establishment and other members of the staff.
Dr. De Silva noted that they are looking to ascertain if the employees were qualified to carry out their respective services ahead of their appointment.
The CDDA also noted out that investigations will look into whether the medical staff at the clinic were prepared to tackle such situations where a patient who suffers an adverse reaction at particular stage of a procedure could be attended to accordingly.
Meanwhile, the doctor charged with the conducting of the cosmetic surgery procedure that resulted in the death has been placed under remand custody until August 18.
