Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe raised a question in Parliament on Tuesday over the recent incidents that unfolded in Beruwala.
There seems to have been a cover-up and how did that cover up take place. I am not casting any aspersions on the magistrate , I think he did the correct thing. The main issue is honourable minister, there seems to have been a cover-up because you cannot say that a person who was shot was also killed by some other blunt weapon. So, will this house be informed of all the facts .
Minister of Justice, Rauff Hakeem:
One of the postmortem reports confirm that, in fact, one death occurred due to shooting. And the other is somewhat unclear and therefore the magistrate has ordered that the judicial medical officer concerned be summoned to court and for his evidence to be led in order to ascertain the cause of death.
