President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Monday declared open the new Computer Laboratory and a three-storey building at his alma mater of Thurstan College, Colombo.
The computer laboratory was established using a gift of 100 computers that was made to President Rajapaksa in view of the centenary of the Communist Party of China.
After unveiling the commemorative plaque declaring open the new computer laboratory, the president also conversed with students who had gathered there.
The principal of Thurstan College, Colombo, presented a memento to the president at the event.
Ren Faqiang, China’s deputy ambassador in Sri Lanka, and Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardane, were also present at the occasion.
