President Mahinda Rajapakse reminded that the opportunity has been created not only for Buddhists but for all individuals belonging to all religions to freely engage in their respective religious activities as result of the peace that was brought upon the country.
The President further said that even though certain individuals have forgotten the past, the citizen of Sri Lanka will never forget the past. The president pointed out that the peace and development which was unitedly won should be safeguarded.
The President made these comments while participating at a function which was held at the Kaballawala Shri Rathanasiri Piriven Viharaya in Chilaw on Friday.
The President who also pointed out that the law alone cannot give birth to a generation with ethics in the country and went on to say that the temple, the church and the kovil should take the lead in achieving this objective.
