Election monitors have said that when considering election law violations, the law is not being enforced on all violators in an equal manner.
Executive Director of the CaFFE, Keerthi Tennakoon said that even though a prospective candidate and his assistant attempted to assault a police officer in Galle on the day nominations for the Provincial Council Polls were handed over, they have not been arrested as yet.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of PAFFREL , Rohana Hettiarachchi said that the police must take strict decisions in such situations and that disciplinary action must be taken by their respective parties against such violators.
