Customs officials on Sunday arrested a woman who attempted to smuggle a stash of  foreign currency worth Rs.6.5 miilion at the Katunayake International Airport.

The Director of the Customs said that the seized  stash of foreign currencies included American Dollars, Singaporean Dollars and Euros. Investigations revealed that the suspect had intended to travel to India this morning. Customs Director also said that extensive investigations have been launched into the incident and noted that the suspect is a citizen of Seychelles.
