Budget of the Homagama Pradeshiya Sabha which was at the centre of controversy was defeated once again on Monday. Allegations were raised that the first reading of the Homagama Pradeshiya Sabha which took place on December 11 was illegal and the first round was held again on Monday.
Ten votes were received in favour of the budget while twelve votes were cast against it.
Nine members of UPFA and three members of JVP voted against the budget. One member of the UPFA abstained from voting. The second round of voting on the Homagama Pradeshiya Sabha budget is due to be held in future.
