Impartial, Transparent Investigation to Be Conducted Into Tusker Kavanthissa’s Death

COLOMBO ( News 1st) - Minister of Environment Dr. Dhammika Patabendi says steps will be taken to conduct an impartial and transparent investigation into the death of the tusker Kavanthissa.

He stated that a further investigation would also be launched in line with the court ruling issued yesterday.

The minister added that samples taken from Kavanthissa’s remains would undergo laboratory testing through several channels.

The minister added that accordingly, the tests will be conducted by the Government Analyst’s Department as well as private-sector laboratories.
