COLOMBO (News1st): Steps have been taken to direct Shiranthi Rajapaksa, who is currently in remand custody, for an eye examination today.
Prisons Spokesperson Senaka Pallethanna stated that she will be directed to the Colombo Eye Hospital today for the eye examination.
According to the Prisons Spokesperson, Shiranthi Rajapaksa is currently in good health at the medical ward of the female detention division.
Meanwhile, Acting Commissioner General of Prisons Prasad Hemantha stated that several samples, including blood samples required for medical tests, were obtained from Shiranthi Rajapaksa yesterday.
Shiranthi Rajapaksa was arrested on October 07 on allegations of obtaining Rs. 10 million from a state bank and committing offenses under the Public Property Act through misappropriation and corruption.
She was subsequently produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court and remanded until October 13.
