COLOMBO (News 1st); The suspect arrested over the grenade attack on a house along Sirisangabo Mawatha in Dehiwala, which claimed the lives of two young children, has also been identified as the gunman involved in a separate fatal shooting in the Kandawala Road area of Mount Lavinia, according to ongoing police investigations.
Police stated that the shooting incident had taken place on August 1 and that the murder had allegedly been carried out on the instructions of an organized crime figure currently residing overseas.
Meanwhile, police have arrested three suspects in connection with the deadly grenade attack in Dehiwala. The arrests were made in
Ridimaliyadda, Dehiwala, and Boralesgamuwa.
The suspects, aged 39, 30, and 23, are residents of the Dehiwala area.
The grenade attack, which occurred on September 11, resulted in the deaths of two young children while their father sustained injuries.
Investigations have revealed that the grenade was thrown at the wrong house due to a mistaken target.
Police inquiries have further uncovered that the intended target had allegedly been the residence of an individual involved in drug trafficking and believed to have maintained close links with an organized criminal gang.
