Pregnant Woman Killed in Brutal Attack in Kalpitiya

COLOMBO (News 1st); A pregnant woman has been killed following an attack with a sharp weapon in the Palakudawa area of Kalpitiya.

According to police, the victim sustained serious injuries in the assault and was admitted to the Kalpitiya Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The attack is reported to have taken place yesterday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as a 26-year-old resident of the Palakudawa area in Kalpitiya.

Police have arrested a 36-year-old suspect in connection with the incident and further investigations are underway.
