Nearly 30,000 Houses In Landslide-Prone Areas Require Relocation – NBRO

COLOMBO (News1st); According to the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO), nearly 30,000 houses located in high risk landslide prone areas are in a condition that requires relocation.

Senior Scientist Wasantha Senadeera stated that out of those houses, 16,746 homes affected by the "Ditwa" disaster are situated in high-risk zones. 

Wasantha Senadeera further noted that these houses are currently at a level where they must be evacuated. He added that the process of providing alternative land plots to the residents of these houses has already begun.
