Gang Violence Reaches Fever Pitch | Kanchipani's Relative Gunned Down In Maligawatte

COLOMBO (News 1st); A relative of underworld figure Kanchipani Imran was shot dead in Maligawatte on Monday (10) afternoon in what police believe was a targeted attack linked to organized criminal activity.

The shooting took place along Sangharaja Mawatha in Maligawatte.

Police Spokesman ASP F.U. Wootler said two gunmen who arrived on a motorcycle carried out the shooting before fleeing the scene.

The victim succumbed to injuries sustained in the attack.

According to police, preliminary investigations indicate that the motive behind the killing is linked to a clash between organized criminal gangs.
