COLOMBO (News 1st); The Iranian Army has claimed responsibility for a drone attack targeting American military forces stationed in Bahrain.

According to a statement carried by the Iranian Broadcasting Agency and released through the Army Public Relations Division, attack drones belonging to the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army struck gathering points of what it described as "hostile American forces" at the Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.

Iranian authorities said the operation was launched following what they described as a hostile American attack on military and civilian targets in southern Iran. The statement accused the United States of violating the provisions of a memorandum of understanding and breaching a ceasefire arrangement.

The Iranian Army said the drone strikes began during the morning hours and were carried out as a direct response to what it called American aggression.

In its statement, the Army warned that the consequences of what it described as repeated and blatant ceasefire violations by the United States would be severe. It further declared that all American military bases across the region would be considered legitimate targets for Iranian military drones if hostilities continue.
