COLOMBO (News 1st); The Court of Appeal today again took up for consideration a writ petition filed by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, seeking an order to prevent his arrest in connection with the ongoing investigations into the Easter Sunday terror attacks.
The matter was heard before a bench comprising President of the Court of Appeal Justice Rohantha Abeysooriya and Justice Sarath Dissanayake.
President’s Counsel Romesh de Silva, appearing on behalf of the petitioner, presented submissions before the court once again in support of the application.
Following the proceedings, the Court of Appeal fixed July 6 as the next date to further consider the petition.
