Kalutara Police Inspector Held For Accepting Bribe From Businessman

COLOMBO (News 1st): An Inspector of Police attached to the Kalutara Special Crime Investigation Unit has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

The arrest was made while he was arriving to accept a sum of 900,000 rupees from a businessman in the Kalutara area.

The suspect Police Inspector had previously demanded a bribe of 1 million rupees from the businessman and had already accepted 100,000 rupees.
