SriLankan Airlines Restructuring Committee Appointed

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka appointed a high-powered committee comprising leading experts across multiple sectors, towards restructuring its national carrier, SriLankan Airlines.

The restructuring committee will be chaired by Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya.

Among its members are Senior Presidential Economic Advisor Duminda Hulangamuwa and financial and corporate strategy expert Deepal de Mel.

In addition, the committee includes representation from key government institutions, with either the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance or a designated representative, as well as the Secretary to the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development or a nominee from the Civil Aviation Authority joining the team. 

The panel is further strengthened by the participation of a specialist in transactions and investment banking, particularly in mergers and acquisitions. 

A legal expert with experience in corporate, aviation, and public law has also been appointed.

An aviation industry specialist is also part of the committee.
