Sathosa Reduces Prices of 18 Essential Food Items

COLOMBO (News 1st); Lanka Sathosa has announced a reduction in the prices of 18 essential food items with effect from today, in a government-backed effort to cushion the public against global economic pressures.

The price cuts apply to a wide range of staple goods widely used in Sri Lankan households, including big onions, white sugar, red lentils (dhal), cowpea, chickpeas, green gram, cashew nuts, wheat flour, and several varieties of rice such as red kekulu rice, red Nadu, Samba, white Nadu, and Ponni Samba.
