COLOMBO (News 1st); The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court has imposed an overseas travel ban on former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa over the ongoing investigation into the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks.
The order was issued by Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasekara after considering a motion filed by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which is conducting inquiries into the deadly coordinated bombings.
In addition to the former President, the court also imposed foreign travel restrictions on two military personnel.
They include Army Colonel Mohamed Ansar and Premananda Udalagama, also known as Silva, a former intelligence officer.
Meanwhile, former Director of State Intelligence, retired Major General Suresh Salley, is currently under detention orders in connection with the same investigation.
