Meegoda Fatal Crash Suspect Remanded Until June 16

COLOMBO (News1st) - The driver suspected of causing the fatal road accident in Meegoda that claimed the lives of six people has been remanded until June 16.

The order was issued after the suspect was produced before the Homagama Magistrate’s Court.

Six people were killed when a cab crashed into a dansala in Meegoda last night.

Among the victims was a 15-year-old girl.

Seven others sustained injuries in the accident.

The suspect driver fled the scene following the incident but was later arrested by a police team that pursued him.

Police said the suspect was apprehended by officers who were on duty in the Godagama area.
