COLOMBO (News 1st); An anti-drug youth conference has been organized for the 26th of next month as part of the "Ratama Ekata" national campaign to eradicate drug abuse.
A discussion on the initial organizational activities was held yesterday afternoon at the Presidential Secretariat, under the patronage of the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.
The conference aims to prevent drug use among youth and mobilize rural communities to oppose drug trafficking.
It is being jointly organized by the National Youth Services Council and the Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs.
The President's Media Division stated that the event is timed to coincide with the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which falls on June 26.
