Parliament to Debate Inland Revenue Amendment Bill Today

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Parliament will convene today. Accordingly, the second reading debate on the Inland Revenue Bill will be held today.

If it is passed in Parliament today, obtaining a TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) will be mandatory for every citizen over the age of 18, and failure to do so will be a punishable offense.

Subsequently, the adjournment motion brought forward by the Opposition is scheduled to be debated from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM, the Department of Communication of Parliament announced.
