President of Vietnam to Arrive in Sri Lanka Today

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Vietnamese President Tô Lâm is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka this afternoon for a two-day official visit.

The visit comes at the invitation of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

During the visit, several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering multiple sectors are expected to be signed to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Cabinet approval for the agreements were granted for these agreements recently.

The agreements are set to focus on information and communication, cultural cooperation, religious cooperation, police training, and scientific research.

The Vietnamese President is also expected to address Parliament during his visit to Sri Lanka.

Senior ministers of the Vietnamese government and several prominent political leaders, including the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, are also expected to accompany President Tô Lâm on the visit.
