Five Foreign Nationals Arrested For Financial Fraud in Matara

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Five foreign nationals including four men and one woman were arrested for allegedly engaging in financial fraud, while staying in Sri Lanka without valid visas.

The arrests were made by the Crimes Investigation Unit of the Matara Division.

The suspects are accused of carrying out financial frauds, conducting business activities on tourist visas, and for keeping in possession of duty-free cigarettes in the country.

The suspects were taken into custody during a raid at a hotel in Thalalla, in the Gandara Police Division.

The arrested individuals, aged between 25 and 40, are Taiwanese and Chinese nationals.
