Major Police Transfers Approved by Police Commission

COLOMBO (News 1st); A number of senior police officers, including three Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs), have been transferred, subject to the approval of the Police Commission, police said.

According to police, the list of officers receiving transfers includes eight Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) and one Superintendent of Police (SP).

Deputy Inspector General D. P. Chandrasiri, who was serving in the Nuwara Eliya District, has been transferred as the DIG in charge of the Puttalam District.

Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General A. G. J. Chandra Kumara has been transferred from the Police Field Force Headquarters to the Nuwara Eliya District.

Police also stated that Deputy Inspector General R. A. D. Kumari, who was in charge of the Prevention and Investigation of Child and Women Abuse, has been transferred to the Police Field Force Headquarters.

In addition, Senior Superintendent of Police K. G. P. B. Samarapala, who was in charge of the Teldeniya Police Division, has been transferred as the Director of the Western Province Intelligence Division.
