37 Chinese Nationals Deported Over Immigration Violations

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Thirty-seven Chinese nationals, who were arrested by local security forces for violating immigration laws and engaging in illegal activities, were deported from the island last night.

The Duty Manager at BIA stated that the group, who had been held at the Welisara Detention Center, was deported accordingly.

The group of deported individuals included six women.

The Duty Manager further noted that a team of Chinese security officials had arrived at the Bandaranayake International Airport in Katunayake to escort them back.

The group was transported via China Eastern Airlines flight MU-714, a regular passenger flight.
