Fire At Kalutara IRD Office Disrupts Emergency Services; Data Systems Unaffected

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Emergency services at the Kalutara Regional Office of the Inland Revenue Department have been temporarily suspended following a fire that broke out last night.

Commissioner General of Inland Revenue Rukdevi P.H. Fernando said that essential services can now be accessed through the nearest regional office or the Tax Services Division at the department’s head office.

Authorities confirmed that the fire caused no damage to the tax data system. 

The Inland Revenue Department noted that its data infrastructure remains secure, with operations centrally managed through a dedicated data security centre.
