Global Walk for Peace Enters Fifth Day; Journey Begins from Tholangamuwa to Yakkala

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Global Walk For Peace In The Island Of Peace will commence its fifth day this morning (24) from the Tholangamuwa Central College. 

The day’s walk is scheduled to conclude at the Abeysekararamaya in Yakkala.

The Maha Sangha, led by Venerable Pannakara Thero of Vietnam, covered a distance of 25 kilometers and the Maha Sangha arrived at the Tholangamuwa National School at approximately 6:30 PM yesterday. 

Thousands of people gathered along the roadsides to pay their respects to the Maha Sangha as they journeyed, spreading the message of peace far and wide.

The Global Walk For Peace In The Island Of Peace is being held at the request of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, with the support of the Clean Sri Lanka initiative.
