Minister of Agriculture Seeks Rs 10 Billion In Compensation Against Media Outlet

COLOMBO (News 1st); Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation K.D. Lal Kantha has filed a complaint against a media outlet, seeking Rs. 10 billion in compensation.

This is based on a report published by the relevant media outlet that the Minister claims has harmed his reputation.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Minister filed the complaint over the misuse of media by publishing false and inaccurate information about his assets and liabilities, and using images and wording that could damage his reputation and future political career.
