COLOMBO (News 1st); Minister Bimal Ratnayake has openly challenged allegations that the government purchased crude oil at an inflated price of around $268 per barrel, calling on critics to present proof.
The issue was raised during a media interaction when the Minister was questioned about claims that the country had procured crude oil at unusually high prices.
Responding to the allegation, Minister Ratnayake questioned the basis of the claim, asking who had stated that crude oil was purchased at such a price.
When a reporter suggested that the claim originated from several media, the Minister firmly rejected the assertion.
