Court Extends Remand of Ex‑SriLankan Airlines CEO

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Chief Executive Officer of SriLankan Airlines, Kapila Chandrasena, has been further remanded until April 28, when his case was taken up today before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.

Chandrasena faces allegations related to irregularities in the procurement of Airbus aircraft for SriLankan Airlines.

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption is conducting investigations into transactions linked to agreements entered into for the purchase of six Airbus aircraft in 2014 and seven Airbus aircraft in 2017 by SriLankan Airlines.
