8,000 Police Deployed For New Year Traffic Duty Across Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st): Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of Traffic Control and Road Safety, W.P.J. Senadheera, states that over eight thousand police officers have been deployed for traffic duties across the island for the New Year season. 

The DIG cautioned drivers to strictly refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics. Furthermore, he provided that it is essential drivers follow safety guidelines and protocols to be followed when using the expressways during this busy festive period.
