5,000 Metric Tons of Rice Reach Island From India

COLOMBO (News 1st); Two cargo vessels carrying imported samba and keeri samba rice have arrived in Sri Lanka, providing a boost to essential food supplies, according to the Essential Food Commodities, Importers and Traders Association.
The association’s Chairman, Ganesh Vinayagasundaram, said the shipments arrived from India.
He confirmed that the two vessels together have brought 5,000 metric tons of samba rice to the island.
