Services Restricted At Department For Registration Of Persons Due To System Fault

COLOMBO (News 1st): Services at the Department for Registration of Persons have been restricted once again due to a fault in the computer system.

Accordingly, only the issuance of identity cards under the one-day service will be carried out today at the head office and provincial offices.

Work to restore the system has already commenced.

The Department for Registration of Persons stated that the date for resuming other services will be announced once the system is back online.

A similar disruption in services occurred at the department just a few weeks ago, also due to a technical error in the computer system.
